The gratitude of praise is what I bring;
simply clinging to the cross despising the shame.
I am thankful Oh Lord for what you have done,
even though the lesson I've learned is not any fun.
Though times are hard, I will do my part,
to bring a soul to Jesus.
The battle has been waged, and the war has been won.
Spiritually the devil has been outgunned;
his anger is not easily tamed,
and the name of Jesus has brought so much fame.
For the Bible is the Word of God;
just look at the road that we have trod.
I am grateful for your son
for this is a race that he has run.
If I should turn and walk away,
then his blood would serve no purpose, but decay.
The problem is, we are too lazy and have nothing to say,
but the King of Kings is on his way,
so there is no time to think stupid, but be ready for that day.
